Coffee and Conversation – every Thursday at 9:00 AM at FGUMC
This is a small group led by Pastor Rhett that includes a brief devotional, great conversation, and hot coffee. The group meets every Thursday from 9-10 AM at Forest Grove UMC. All are invited and encouraged to bring friends.
Festival of the Animals – Saturday, October 10 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at FGUMC
Come join us for a special day with your pets! Many activities are planned including: Blessing of the Animals, treats, games and vendors!
Christian Nationalism: “Why it is Wrong, Who it hurts and How your congregation can help.” – Monday, October 12, from 6-7 PM in the sanctuary of the HUMC
Led by Ken Howard of the Portland-based chapter of Christians Against Christian Nationalism. This event is open to all who want to better understans this ideology and be better equipped to confront it in their church, community and our country.
Charge Conference for Cornelius UMC, Forest Grove UMC and Hillsboro UMC – November 15 at 4 PM
This year’s charge conference will be on November 15th, at 4 PM at Cornelius UMC with Rev. Bwen Drake presiding. You’re invited to bring your favorite “party food” for a Celebration of Ministry following the Charge Conference.
Roof and Gutter Replacement Work at FGUMC – August 3 to September 11
Forest Grove UMC will be having their roof replaced. Construction will start on August 3 and should be finished by September 11. Below is the anticipated work schedule:
ROOF REPLACEMENT
- 8/03 – 8/17 Roof replacement work on part of Education Wing, Office, Fellowship Hall
- 8/23 – 9/11 Roof replacement work on Sanctuary, Steeple, Spire
GUTTER REPLACEMENT
- 8/10 – 9/04 Gutter replacement – begin with Education Wing first
Growing Baby, USA – Tuesday and Thursday at 1-3 PM at FGUMC
Forest Grove UMC is proud to announce a partnership with Growing Baby., USA, a non-profit program that provides free clothing, shoes, and toys to support the needx of growing babies with no financial restrictions. This program is located in Room 7A at Forest Grove UMC. It is open Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, or by appointment. We are currently looking for volunteers to help sort clothing and other donations before they are offered to families.
Chair Yoga – Saturdays at 10 AM
Chair Yoga is a fun and easy way to learn adn use yoga to imrove flexibility and range of motion. The hour-long class is held in Room 8A of the Education Wing and includes opening and closing meditationand yoga poses in a tranquil environment.
Music Bridge – Mondays at 11:30 AM
Music Bridge meets Mondays at 11:30 AM in the Garden Room at FGUMC. The group is facilitated by Lisa Peterson, a certified Music Therapist. The focus is on seniors, but the group is open and welcoming to anyone of any age and musical experience.
